A true Nova Scotian, Cory grew up in the small town of Fall River, located 20 min outside of Halifax. Never one to turn down new and adventurous food, his palate started developing from a young age. Inspired by many great cooks in his life, he enjoyed the very nature of feeding friends and family alike.
A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, Cory will be taking over ownership of The Hatfield House effective Spring 2017. Graduating top of his class, along with his nomination of Class Marshal for student leadership, he managed his schools ACF Student Competition Team, earning a gold medal placement at the North East Reginal Competition in Buffalo, and a bronze medal at the ACF National Competition held in Orlando. After graduation he worked in Boston under notable Chefs Joseph Leonardi CMC, Michael Shannon CEC, Jesus Olmedo CEC, Geoff Lanez CEC and Tony Le CPC.
Cory is thrilled to keep Michael Hawrys as Executive Chef, Amie Hatfield as front of the house manager, along with all of the existing team in place to ensure The Hatfield House delivers the same elevated dining experience our guests have come to know and love.
He is honored to carry on the traditions of The Hatfield House and looks forward to establishing roots in the community. As he settles into his new home, he is excited to work with local purveyors, exploring what the South Shore has to offer and celebrating it within the menu.
